Fort Peck Dam

Built during the Great Depression from 1933-1940, the Fort Peck Dam created a reservoir that covers 245,000 acres upstream on the Missouri River.

The reservoir covers Old Fort Peck. It has a 1,500 mile coastline, longer than the coastline of California.

There are six major dams on the Missouri River.
